I can see both sides of this argument.

From a racers point of view, you can go to a private practise day for less than a $100 bucks, and 9 times out of ten there will be hardly anyone there. Even with the "speed" days that some tracks hold you still only get maybe 20 or so cars, so you get to do a lot of laps for your $$$$. In Fact Barbagallo only charges $60 for the day - Bargain

From the social aspect, I can see the benefits of having the track exclusively for a Datsun day - and I think that's a great idea too.

The only person lining pockets is the track owners...$2,800 for the day seems a bit rich! To put this in perspective, I could hire the Collie Motorplex for $1,350 for the day on a weekend. Collie is situated a similar distance from Perth that Marulan is from Sydney, and is 1.65km in length.

The only additional costs would be insurance, and I am not sure how much that would cost, but I doubt it would be $1,500.

Either way... I hope all you Sydney boys have a great day....I look forward to hearing peoples thoughts on the track.
