can someone tell me how an engine could possibly turn over like that? and what is the crackling noise just before the exhaust gases come out?

Just a typical supercharged V8 idle. I thought the guy knew what he was doing until he second blipped the throttle. this can cause the engine to blow in a big way, as the engine hasn't managed to clear all the fuel from one blip before you dump more fuel in. & he's sitting right on top of it. He'll be the first to know if anything exits the engine, like the blow off panel or a piston & rod.
