We all do silly things as youngsters, myself included.... I just hope you learn from this and grow out of it sooner rather than later.

Get involved in some form of motorsport, hill climbs & supersprints are a good place to start. It will more than likely tame down your street driving, at least it did for me.

Just last week some goose ran a red light and killed a 5 year old near Midland..... 123 in a 60 zone is out of order - so I must agree with Cranky.

datman55, your probably a silverback too by the sound of it, you pick your time AND place but don't whinge when you come unstuck. Cop it on the chin!

Thanks to datman55 for some common sense on this matter.

More deaths as a result of speeding/hooning than real crime. I dont agree with gun ho coppers booking people 65 in a 60, but when its poeple being wreckless I dont have a problem with it.

You blokes think doing 120 in a 60 is fun and you are in control. You dont realise the streets you are speeding in are dynamic. If someone steps out in front of you. You are looking at a jail term.

Yes I done to, but I knew it was wrong at the time and now I thank god that nothing happened.

the only ever time i have done those sorts of speeds is on the highways our bush... not where kids can run out in front of me at all the only thing you could hit out there is a roo or a tree.. and both of them will kill you instantly... yes i do burnouts in my street on the very odd occasion when i am very very peeved off but yeah they had a point with you doing that much in a 60 zone. everyone learns but ey.. i have had one accident and that has made me think alot more ey.

so maybe this'll teach you to be a little brighter when driving. I'm with these other guys, you get zero sympathy for doing more then double in a speed zone.

Nobody faults you for wanting to go fast but comon man, turn your brain on! what happens if you'd of hit a kid or crashed into something or someone elses property, what are you going to say then - oops, I'm sorry, ain't going to cut it at that point.

Accidents happen way too fast & BTW, the only reason the cop was going that fast is cuz you were, duh!

Over here (US) unless your drunk I dont think they'd impound your car but at 76 mph in a 37mph zone you'd get a wreckless driving citation, your insurance would be thru the roof if still insurable & possible lose your license, all good things I think actually.

I may be a little biased due to my grandmother being killed by some dumbshit driver doing the same kind of stunt you were, it was completely avoidable yet tragic due to stupidity. Oh & BTW, the guy who killed her ended up a paraplegic as well & I'm sure he was sorry too.

Now flame on & enjoy your hiatus from dumbass driving habits!

I used to be a suicidal idiot behind the wheel when I was younger, and now that I've grown out of it I thank my lucky stars that no-one was hurt or killed.
I do still cut loose, but just when there is no-one around to annoy/endanger. I think if you saw the damage that a car which has crashed at 123 in a 60 does, you understand why they have to be so harsh on it.
After a crash, no amount of wishing you hadn't been speeding can undo the damaage that has been done.
As I've gotten older, I've developed the aability to think about "what if". Hence I'm now lots more choosey about when and where I break the law in my car. (but I do still have my moments though )

thats exactly right.
and you dont 'really' realise it till your a bit older that choices have real consequences that can land you in a whole heap of poop finacially, physically and mentally.and also you hurt easier when your older.
these younger blokes will concur one day.
we just had a young bloke doing stupid speeds in a 50 zone up this way a few weeks ago. luckily he had just dropped off a teenage girl and his mate survived the wreck. he's as dead as a doornail though.

Yep,i'm with the other"more mature" crew giving opinions.
Get involved in a bit of club motorsport, theres heaps of it around to choose from, then put your talents to the real test.

What you will be paying your state gov'mit in fines inconvinence etc.would maybee get you to two events and a lot more creed.

123 in a 60 zone , you idiot!, do it properly on a race track or hand your licence back before you kill someone .
