Great info! Just a small point though, the 1200 coupe actually has a two piston caliper, they're both just inboard of the brake disc...

Datsun 1200 disc brakes are good, as good as famous muscle car brakes, but are not up to current standards.

If you fit wide tires and load the 1200 down with extra weight (CA18 engine, heavy-duty differential, etc) you will neeed to go with larger brakes. The Datsun B210 disc brakes were designed for a car 20% heavier and fit the bill. The Datsun B310 brakes are even better. For racing go with a ventilated disc (so they won't fade as readily on repetitive braking). The 280ZX or R32 or other 'big car' brakes are called for.

Pretty much. Most rear-wheel-drive Nissan struts can be adapted. Just takes a bit of trial and usually a bit of cutting and welding. See pictures here: Strut swaps

yeah as DD said, most things can be made to fit. but everything between 1600 struts and z31 300zx struts can be pretty much bolted straight in with the parts listed near the top of my post

QKCOOP, i had to make up an adaptor bracket. if you look through my photo album....in about the middle of it i think, there are a couple of pics of the bracket

Yes they will fit, but...reportedly 510 (1600), 240Z/260Z/280Z has a lower axle so they will have more positive camber than stock (bad, bad). But the other Datsun/Nissan models including 280ZX are same inclination as 1200 so they are better choice.

actually that reminds me, 240z 260z and 280z have a different bold spacing to attatch to the steering arm so wont work with the stuff i mentioned earlier

also on the more positive camber that stock point, R31 R30 S12 Z31 and 280zx all have a different stub axle angle that will give more positive camber than the other larger datsun struts. probably already said that in the first post though
