is there a difference in venturi's or such, because in aus,the 1600 escorts all seem to have single barrel ford carby's (not webers),& the 2 litre motors all have dgav's.i used a weber off a cortina on my a15,& could never get it to idle correctly, but i put this down to not getting enough air at idle,so i'd have the idle screw wound in so far it was uncovering the first progression hole.i eventually drilled two holes in the throttle butterfly,as recommended by carby services, but got twin dcoes for it instead of fine tuning.what i really wanted was a 32 dgv, like i had once, but they don't make them anymore.
