Gday all...
well today i just blew 2 of my 6x9" sony Xplod speakers in my Y... i was never happy with them anyways , they put out really s**t bass sound. Just wondering wat u guys would recommend. They are being powered of a cheap 4chnl putting out around 300W per channel or something like that.
Money not really an restraint. Just want it to sound good. Was lookin at a set off Alpines, dads got a set in his HZ wagon and they sound great
Let us know wat u recommend aye?

cheers

im realy happy with my alpine 6x9 R's
these were in my brothers poohdoor while he was running a $3,000 system and they reely are great speakers

he now has a subie with like 3 sets of 6.5" R's and they sound great also
hes thinking about about changing them for focal, but i dont think there is much better then alpine type R and focal imo

Agree with everyone else. i had a set of Focal's and I don't know why everyone messes around trying to fit subs etc. cause with these speakers there was just no need. Highly recommend!

agreed there lachie,
my mate ran a alpenis head unit, clarion amp and a pair of 6 inch focal splits. he didnt bother putting the sub in as the bass was so awesome just off the 6inchers.
the sound quality was so clear you can hear a squeaky bass pedal in a particular song every time the drummer stepped on it.

so even 6 inch speakers would put out good bass? the parcel shelf is getting remade so i can make anything suit. what would go better? 6" or 6x9". The amp puts out 75W stable i believe. and it looks like these speakers should handle it as they are 75Rms with 150W peak. lol... i dunno... someone help me out here... i dont understand how the calculations for it all work. I just dont wanna burn out more speakers ... LOL
