Yeah I had sump clearance issues when I did mine. We moddified the sump to clear the drag link, only to later discover that the sump from a bluey with rack and pinion already had the shape I needed. But you still wanna fit the engine with the wheels on full lock. as the steering aproaches full lock, the drag link rises. So what clears when your pointing straight ahead, might hit when you go around a corner. (or might prevent you going around it at all!)

Still on the hunt for a good stumpy 5 speed box. I'm going to use a single 45mm Weber I think. - Keep it simple.

You could also use a single 2 inch SU with a t28 :)
120 at the wheels with standard internals.
