Just looking for a new motor for my car and have come across this. dose anyone know who's motor this is and wether it is any good or is it passed its used by date???

they put the turbo around the wrong way haha, seams like a bush mechanics set up mate, but i guess if it was cheap anuf it would be ok, i personally wouldnt pay much more than current bid

looks like a dogs breakfast, commodore radiator and looks like commodore radiator hoses for turbo lines, blow through on stock hitachi carby not even boxed in!? it would probably lean out and ping or the carby would blow seals at any significant boost.

I think it would need a rebuild... the engine looks as tho its had a hard life... I agree the set-up does look a bit untidy... probs not the best set-up around...

I wonder where they routed the exhaust on that engine with the outlet of the turbo facing forward like that?

Also.. where does your air filter fit!

It would make for a pretty stealth installation... just fit a dummy blue air cleaner as a cover over the top of the box on the carb and have the inlet pipes coming in through the back. The cops would be scratching their heads

id be more worried about wheres the exhaust going to go the dump would need a 180 degree bend or something

It looks like a budget build and considering it started at $200.00 I'd say the seller is being pretty honest about the pricing.

I think the bidders see a complete, running, turbo engine. Optimum performance/configuration is a completely separate issue.....some strange decision making in the fabrication of that setup there.

buy it and sell the #OOPS# off it and just run it as a pretty mellow/stock a14
