Question:

Are the weatherstrips for the 120Y AUS and US spec the same?

I'm looking to buy the Rubber kit from Rarespares but they told that the kit they have is for the Aus spec. I believe they are the same for the Us spec.

Any info?

Define weather strips. If you are referring to the rubber seals around the doors then yes. They are the same as our coupes but the trunk seal is the same as our sedan. If you were to make an order then you need to tell them that is a 2 door sedan. We mainly got 4 door sedan, coupes and wagons.

RHD conversion you will need...

firewall
the bulkhead between the windscreen and the firewall (also houses the wiper linkage which also needs to be changed)
pedalbox
steering box
draglink
scuttle panel (panel between the windscreen (windsheild) and the bonnet (hood)
dashboard and the frame (and the gauges too)
accelerator pedal...

wiring loom... and any other thing I haave forgotten

the Drag link is the linkage that goes under the sump (oilpan) that connects the front wheels together and to the idler and pitman arms

also called a cross rod i believe...

by the way... thaat grill you have is the same as the late model aussie/JDM 120Y sedans have... it's just lacking the blanking pieces to hide where the indicators go...

Hi Luis,

Yes, weatherstrip is the same spec Japan, Australia, USA. Just make sure to get "2-door sedan" weatherstripping.

Your car is a B210. It is a B210 in Japan and Australia too. 120Y is just a badge name in some countries that was never used in USA where instead they fitted "B-210" badges.

The firewall has equal stampings on both sides doesn't it? I would go for the chop on the original and then adapt other parts for that. You got an awesome opportunity to put some good tricks in it

yeah and no - the firewall only has one hole for a steering column and the wiper linkage is all wrong... thre is more of the bodyshell that needs altering for the conversion than you'd think...

but having said that if you have good welding skills it's not impossible...

yeah I'd use the RHD of the firewall on the LHD firewall - and I would leave all the LHD holes there and blank them off... just incase the local police don't like it...

always wanted to do a Dual control 120Y myself... but how to do the dashboard...
