I got my head back today, its had about 0.020" taken off it. Ive lapped in the valves using coarse then fine valve grinding paste and given it a real good clean then assembled it

another update, probably the last one before the engine is running in the car. Camshaft arrived today so i promptly got to work assembling the engine. I got the sump on then remembered that i left the damn front oil gallery plug on the bench so i had to take it all apart again!!

Lol in ur cam specs:

"Model: SOHC"

How did you choose ur cam specs, to match efi setup, porting job, or will u tune efi to match cam? (Obviously you will do the latter wen tuning anyway, just curious about the thought process)

i sent the guy as much information about the engine and what i wanted from it as i could and he made a custom grind for me.

ill tune the efi to suit the rest of the engine of course so the cam is only really designed to suit the ports/valves and the compression ratio and how i want the engine to behave.

its almost ready to drop back into the car at this stage:

I've probably said this already, ('cos everytime I see that manifold I think it to myself) But those long runners should deliver good low end torque.

yep you've mentioned that before. Hopefully they will help recover some of the low end that could be missing with that camshaft but we will have to wait and see how it goes once its in the car.

Ive stalled at the point of fuel lines and pump. I didnt realise EFI pumps were so expensive!!

Looking at a bosch 910 external inline pump. Anyone know if i need a surge chamber or do any tank modifications? I know that i need to run high pressure fuel line at the rubber sections but i presume steel is fine for the rest of it.

Once ive got the fuel system sorted i can drop the engine in and wire it up.

any fuel system advice would be appreciated
