I'd say take it to a Dyno/carb specialist, and lay the cash on the table. It may just be a jetting/fuel supply issue seeing as it struggles when under load.

Do you have footage of a drive around?

So are these the same issues that jordy had? or was that sorted?

I think jordy pretty much sorted them out but the car was a total pig when cold. Jordy said the timing was at 15 degrees I've got it at about 20 and it starts and idles fine when cold, maybe I should put it back to 15 and just put up with the grumpy cold engine.

Cold naturally aspirated performance engines are always temperamental.

You need to give a bit more on detail for me [or anyone] to offer any suggestions. In my video, you can hear my engine struggles to build revs, but as soon as it picks up, the cam powers through and she she goes ape. So basically, at the moment it has power but only when you plant your foot, it's essentially on/off [because I haven't fine tuned it]. With your engine, I dunno, maybe get some jets to put in and test? A video of it when your driving would be pretty helpful as this tell us [show us?] what it sounds like.

Cheers

Yeah I will try to get a video up, my engine was pretty much like yours at about 15 degrees ("my engine struggles to build revs, but as soon as it picks up, the cam powers through and she she goes ape")
The carbies were sorted out and I havn't touched them, maybe I am trying too hard to tame a beast.

Thanks to bailz I got a cheap (about $5.00 from Jaycar) thermo fan switch, It works very well, much better set up than the Davies Craig Item!

"ca is cranking, ca has fuel, ca has spark, ca doesnt go :( "

low fuel pressure or incorrect timing are the likely culprits. Also, you may have spark, but the spark may be actaully too weak to fire the mixture.

The exhaust is fitted, now just have to sort out door seals, wipers, paint job, dizzy recurve, tuning, steering box recon, rear carpet (do I need that?) and I need some plastic strut top covers (I think from a 510 or 120Y?)
