the 0 mark is TDC. The 5 mark is 5 degrees before TDC

Hi Guys

i was going through this link

http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... php?title=Ignition_Timing

Feel that the information is not sufficient enough for me regarding Advace and Retard as i am not a technical as much, can any one tell me when installing distributor on TDC which mark should i select from Advance and Retard is it middle of both ? then configure it later as per the page or what ?

thanks
Regards
sumith

When "installing distributor on TDC", use the 0 mark, which is TDC.

However, that is not the timing procedure. Set the spark timing against the 5 degree BTDC mark. Datsun typically specified 5 or 7 degrees timing.

The article can be expanded, click Edit and type in more.
