kurt the ca18det rods are supposedly almost the same.
Measurements are a bees prick in difference.
The Spools rods are 5 or so gsm heavier than the stock
ca18det rods so should give you a good base.

Ca16 rods are lighter than ca18 rods. Although at a glance you woulnt pick it. I have the numbers in a notebook somewhere. Which reminds me I haven't seen it for a while............
If it doesn't turn up soon ish, I'll reweigh some for you.

The spool CA18 rods are 560 grams each with rod bolts (according to them)
but you probably knew that already

5gm difference in conrods can be the difference between winning a race or losing it.

If the engine has to accelerate 5 extra grams 30,000 times per minute that a significant amount of HP spent internally instead of going out the flywheel.

For a street car it matters not much.

I think the best bit about the CA16 rods is that they use a 9mm rod bolt. So they are mad stronger right from the get go.

I can't find my damn note book. I suspect that mrs A14force has "tidied" it away somewhere. I like to leave things where I put them, but she is like nah, I'm gonna hide your stuff.
Women, you can't live with them, and you can't shoot them!

You can shoot them depends with what ;)

But seriously I didnt know about the ca rods having thicker rod bolts.

I was actually considering using worked a14 rods with ARP rod bolts on a CA
thinking they are better than the ca18de/t rods by being a tad lighter round
the big end but thicker on the shaft.

Theres a picture somewhere comparing the A series rod with a ca rod.
