I've wondering again what Mitsubishi engine this manifold is off, I saw at the wrecking yard in Adelaide multiple Hyundai cars with this type of manifold (expect to pay about 130 and spend an hour or two pulling it off) but no Mitsubishi's. My 12 valve 4g15 carby engine in my run around has the intake ports evenly spaced. Could it be that this inlet is from an 8 valve earlier 4g15 efi that didn't make it to Aus? In any case if you're interested and in Aus there's plenty of Hiyundai's at the end of their life to get the parts from.

I'm no guru on the fuel pumps (but could ask around)...

I've mounted mine under the car - so plenty of airflow there - but like dattodude I eventually want to move to a drop tank with in tank fuel pumps - much neater solution.

update time.

I put the engine and box in today. Went in smoothly and easily. I have a small problem though, i need to modify my adapter plate again for the manifold as it doesnt clear the header's flanges.

Anyway, i sat the manifold in place for the photo:

some more work done today - got the manifold bolted up properly now and some of the wiring done but still a lot of work there to do.

You finding a way to turn that plenum around so the throttle body faces the front?

nup, dont need to. There is room because the throttle body sits above the chassis cross member and there is enough room to get a 90° fitting on it too.

Cool that you don't need too.

If you wanted to though how symmetrical are the ports on the plenum (at work none of the pics display...but the looked fairly good when I was looking at it last night)

Progress...... but slowly. Things like different temperature senders for coolant, headers, oxygen sensor nuts falling off headers and that sorta crap has slowed me down a little.

On the to-do list before i can fire it up i have:
~ run power cable to fuel pump and earth pump
~ seal tank
~ run flexi tubes between pump and steel lines
~ run power cables to each of the two relays
~ wire the intake air temperature sensor
~ sort out what is + and - for coil (mitsubishi unit that came with the manifold)
~ fit radiator and bracket
~ put nuts on the engine mounts


Oh and some engine oil!

and some exciting news - IT GOES!! :) :) :)

I got everything sorted and cranked it over, well computer was initially set incorrectly but ive got it a lot better now and have a comfortable idle. Ive done my 20 minutes of running in so can start working on the tune.

My internet has been slowed down but once its back up to speed ill have a vid on youtube for all those who are interested.
