has anyone done this?
i was told about it the other day at work
needs an adapter plate obviously but just wondering if anyone has done it
apparently its quite a large power increase
oh and its still a downdraught carb

They are probably talking about the Weber 32/36 (Holley G-series). It helps the A12 when you rev it over 5,000 RPM.

Most 2L Fords (ie Cortina and escort) came out with the 32/36 downdraft. I also think the that some of the Older Alfa Romeos did as well... or were they side draft?... But yeah... Cortina or Escort 2L engine with adaptor plate. cant go wrong mate...

Thats the carb that i had on my a12 for a long time. Yeah perfectly good swap.
No big issues, easy enough to tune. Makes awsome inducion noise.

A 1.8/2L carbie might run too rich for a 1.2L. You would need to change the jets over to something smaller (easy to do and jets are around $8).
Not sure what size jets though. It may be in the tech wiki.
