what the laws allow you to do in your country?

If the law is 25% increment of 1200cc, that means maximum 1500cc.
I suggest Nissan E15ET, with an adapter plate to fit the rear-wheel tranission transmission.

I also think the E15ET if you can get one and get an adaptor plate made. That way you get all the manifolds and corectly sized turbo.
If the original A12 is in good condition, puting a turbo on that is another idea. More fabrication would be required but it might save some greif with the relevant authorities. You could keep driving the car around while you make up manifolds and carb boxes etc. Check out TOPGEAR`s Turbo A12 in the Wiki.
If you have to pay people to do most of the work the E15ET could work out cheaper, especialy if you can get the standard harnes and ECU. And would make more power with more reliability.

e15et motor is quite rare down here guys i never seen one myself!
even if i can get one, it would be very hard to find replacement parts in case of rebuilding the engine / repairing faulty parts.
i dont mind fabrication works, but i dont want to wait months in order to get parts brought in from japan.
our local RTD (road transport department) dont allow anything higher than 25%. a friend of mine suggested 4e-fte motor out of starlet gt, but i told him i dont want to 'downgrade' my ride with a toyota's motor. i'd rather go for a15 instead of toyota
any other option guys?

I would simply go with an A15 or L14 if those are available. The A15 is a bolt in swap with a few minor mods, add a Weber DGV headers and performance cam (noting crazy like race cam)............all that should give it some zip. Of course if you're looking for the thing to go like mad, then a turbo might be the way to go. What amazes me the most is that there are actual laws for this, in the USA where we seem to be law suit happy we have no such laws if your car is a death trap so be it as long as it passes an emissions test.

I think it is because changing the engine has not resulted in deaths, so why make it illegal. Sure, teenagers kill themselves with powerful cars, but with factory stock ones too.

i agree with Rallytwit,A15 or L14 is the perfect option for us in Malaysia..if i,i would go for A14 or A15,cuz it will straight bolt it in ur B110..and will have no issue later for endorsement with the RTD and the spare parts also so easy to find..

a15 seems like a straight substitute for the good ol' a12 bituten, the last time ive check, the price of a15 motor in malaysia was around MYR1500-1800 (complete engine that is).
i can source a decent 12a turbo motor out of 1st generation rx-7 with that kind of money. the 12a turbo as we all know, was the most powerful motor (from japan) of its time.
the problem with a15 is you have a very limited options to get the extra punch out of the motor here in malaysia.
bituten, what motor do you run and what mods have you done to your engine?

12a is classed as a larger motor here, you might want to look into that beffor you buy?
