Hi:) I had a question about the Datsun 1982 210 Distributor. Is it supposed to have a timing adjustment on the distributor? A few reasons why 'we' figured it might be is one; when I start up my car after about 4 minutes of warming up it starts to rev really high. Two; we adjusted the timing by moving the cap and (I think the roder) but it wouldn't turn as far as we'd have liked. The timing is about 5 points off. It is supposed to be at 10 I think and it is currently at 15. So... I might need a new distributor? Maybe the timing adjustment on the distributor wobbled off???
:) Thanks

PS. Does anyone know how much two back seats originals to this car would be worth? Considering I don't want them anymore because I'm putting in a roll cage this summer... They are in alright condition, they have sun damage to them on the top and are worn in between the seats:/

Hi Owlie

what is the reason are you going for a new distributor ? i don't think you may need another one, have you removed the distributor out from its location ?

Thanks

No, timing is not adjusted there. Instead you loosen the bolt on the outside and rotate the whole distributor.

It won't "set in". You have to turn it to where you want it. Then tighten the bolt.

Check it with your timing light. If you don't have one, borrow one. Or go down to Sears and buy a $30 timing light.
