Hehe, I fitted 145 jets, have not checked the chokes yet (cause it would mean pulling apart my crap airbox setup : lots of work!)
My tubes have 6 stupidly small holes in them, I have larger hole tubes but might leave that for the dyno to decide.

emulsion tubes are hard to work out.. holes let more air in as well as fuel..

I know I have 30mm chokes and should be running 28's. If its a state thing I will do Tasmania.

For a 1.6 my book gives the following for dellorto DHLA 40's: 34mm chokes, 45 idle jet, idle air bleed 7850.1 (starting point), main jet 140, emulsion tube 7772.7, air corrector 160 (starting point and go leaner (bigger)), aux venturi 7848.3, accel jet 35-40, needle valve 1.75.
Note these are all starting points but should get a 1.6 running to enable finetuning.
Make sure you are getting enough fuel (supply and needle valve) as the std supplied needle is often the smallest size and could run lean at the top end.

So how is this going to work? The excel spreadsheet sounds like a good idea.

And what is a amesty? is it like a parts library or something?

Merriam-Webster defines amnesty:
The act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals.

Technically Amesty probally doesen apply here since nobody is comminting a crime, but i spose dumping carby parts should be a crime.

In this senario/context its a process where people who want to dispose of carby parts can do so without guilt knowing that they will go to a good home,(no punishment for admiting that you were going to dump the parts) and it also allows people within the community (ie datsun1200.com) to gain benifit from it.

Think "the gun-buy back scheme" that Australia had in the late 90s. Owners of semi autos, full autos, and military style firearms were asked to return these firearms to be destroyed.

Now, if you rock upto a police station with one of these firearms, and say that you want to return it (it is now illegal to hold these firearms in Aus without a special needs license), you wont be charged with any offenses rela ting to ownership of said firearm., ie its an amnesty.

Of course if you commited a crime with that firearm, wellthats slightly different....

Oh okay amnesty, not amesty.

So how is this going to work?

EDIT: I'd be particularly interested in acquiring some Mikuni jets, but I think that is another issue; there is more need than what is potentially available. Having looked through a few parts boxes I do actually have a few spares myself but I'm not sure if they're of any use to anyone and I can certainly rustle some more up.

but thats the point Cylons. Its the spares that you cant think of a use for that are the ideal canditate for this concept. You dont want them, they dont seem to be of value, but they might be the missing part to someone else.

Linkage arms, tubes, needles, chokes, trumpets, floats, bowls, if its carby related, send em to Dundee. Its in good hands in that warehouse...

I cant think of anyone who stiches himself up more to help out others than Dundee. You can trust that he wont try and rip off anyone. Hec he has even committed to helping me with the shed construction next weekend (silly ole goat doesent know what he is on for!)

I have already sent most of my carby parts to dundee already, and I have 3 SUs and another manifiold to send his way, and a rare round port complete twin SU setup including linkages if I can bring myself to part with it. Its the least I can do for the help he has passed my way.
