You can buy a fully prepped CA18de engine from Tomei with all their trimmings, ITB's, cams, etc... Only thing needed is a computer to run it. Revs to 10,000rpm i think and pulls sum pretty impressive figures

Jordan, how much boost can you reliably use with a 100% stock SR20DET?

Or do you have experience with stock SR20? Most everyone beefs up their SRs.

mostly i run 16psi on a stock sr20 no dyno tune i had a stock sr20 with wat look'd like a stock turbo on 23psi for over a year

i have had around 7 silvia's/200sx/180sx all sr20 all untuned all left ca's along way behind

when i had my ute running with a ca i kill'd 4 motor's in a very short time and now and again we get a ca drift car turn up for driftin and they dont last long

and im sure all 4 of those CAs were extra healthy never been thrashed engines, and what do you mean when you say you killed the CAs? as i dont really count blowing a headgasket of spinning a big end on a second hand engine as really killing it

and what really is so #OOPS# about CAs?

Im with Casey on this one a CA is pretty much a mini rb26 and we all no how well they go, dont get me wrong SR's are good motors but the only reason they came along was the CA's were to expnsive for nissan to continue building.like pigdog was saying the CA's are getting old hence why some spin bearings Etc. Once freshened up they can be a real lethal combination. I chose the CA for my conversion and dont have any intention of turning back

Ohh by the way has anyone seen these stroker kits that spool make for the CA

I think this is next on the shopping list lol

but then again with the silvia engine swaps, SRs are crap. thats why people go for RBs right? isnt that another perfectly valid class of thinking
