Hey Dat,

I live in Young just up the road and i had my 1200 engineered by Xeros Kendall Engineering. He is based in Wagga and Griffith. Give me a yell if you want to know anything about him.

I was lucky enough that mine did have an auto gearbox in it from factory so i had enough room for an R30 gearbox. But like it was just said, everyone does things differently whether is because they are doing it by themselves, or they are on a budget or its what the shop wants to do. Either way there is no "wrong" way in doing anything, as long as it does what you want, than its fine. :)

In regards to Maddat kits, ALL there products are designed/tested then built and tested fitted again. Scotty knows his stuff, especially when it comes to the dattos. A 10mm offset is NOT going to hurt the alignment/geometry and integrity of the car and its components. I think you will find the MOST if not all vehicle engines are already on a slight slope to begin with.

Hey fenix thanks for that, i had seen the office here in griffith but i was unsure wether he engineered cars , well now i no he does ill hit him up.Im just collecting names and numbers of engineers now so i dont have to go chasing them around once im done. Do you mind me asking how much it cost you to get engineered?.

It was $450 for the initial report. I did have to go back and get him to add a couple of other things later on which cost me a further $200. So not that much... :)

hahaha im 16 and i made my own mounts on a 1200 cross member and my CA went straight into my coupe and cos its an auto shell i only had to drill new holes in the standard CA gbox xmember and then it just bolted into the standard floor mounts haha as bailz said its not rocket science !!

even with the maddat tunnel i seriously doubt you would be able to get the gearbox out with the engine in the car, engine needs to be able to tilt a bit for the box to come out. and CAs dont really tilt when they are up against the firewall to begin with

not really a fan of the maddat tunnels as they dont even remotely look stock, unlike a larger tunnel from another car

and bailz, why do you have to be a profetional welder or boiler maker to be able to do decent welds on panel steel. not like its that hard to learn how to weld
sure an engineer would rather hear you say that someone with there welding ticket did it, but doesnt mean that it will be #OOPS# if it wasnt

make sure you over lap it by 20mm plus fully weld it in both sides (tunnel that is)

I just fitted my engine and gearbox using maddat fitting kit and tunnel.I had the same problem with the engine just resting on firewall.First i made a 6mm spacer that went in between the gearbox and mount.then i dropped the control arms out again and lossend the cross member off and pushed if as far forward as it would go. Got about 12mm between head and firewall now

As for the tunnel the gearbox goes in and out with ease there is a #OOPS# load of room,heaps easier to get in and out than a standed box

Sunny’s were made to be drifted, it says so in the factory service manual: Service after every drift day and mountain tounge or 100,000km’s
