Simon how about chopping an A12 to just the rear section?
Bruce has one to give away, I can pick it up unless he can deliver it
to pick up his ride?

Tell me about it!! yet if they cant get rare ke15-25 coupes (comparable to the 1200 coupes) they settle for Tissue boxes for no choice in good looking nimble cars.
Yet here are the box pics again this time it will load!!!

Im sure youve though about it all already... but how about welding the jig up once bolted up and then slicing it up?

Good that its winter anyway, youll turn into a jockey after a few of these get done :)

Here is an adaptor I was considering until I realised the price is three times higher than that offered for a similar adaptor for rotary engines to W series boxes.

Thats the sort of plate that would be used for the T5 or Getrag, only not as thick.

Its not worth cutting up a block, the only diference is the extra 1/2 hour on the heating element.

Im off to the shed to cut up a 71B box from a 260Z. It already has good ratios. I just phoned for a price on clutchplates for the AP clutch i have (to suit the T50) $408. plus shipping!! I already have the clutches for the 71B box. So its worth the time to do the cut and shut.

Nuff said just been Green :)
I was wondering which 71B you where using now I know its got excellent gear ratios.

I just got back from the wreckers round the corner to see their t5 boxes and they want
$800!!!! what a joke. Anyway the length from the tip of the input shaft to where the
bellhousing bolt up to is 16.8-17cm, I remember the A series is about 10cm so the adapter
plate would need to be arond 7cm depending on the clutch used. Most T5 clutches are
over 200mm for sure?

The 1200 Auto bell housing is 151mm long. The crank/spigot comes 10mm out from the back of the engine.

151+20mm(adaptor min)=171 This would only have the shaft engaged in the spigot by around 7mm if the T5 shaft is 168mm. This wouldnt be enough. A spigot bush would have to be made to go in the flywheel to use the T5 box and 1200 auto bell housing. The advantage of this is the shaft wouldnt have to be ground.

Thanks for measuring.

The Mango stands alone far far apart from the allergenc Peanut.

The value of ke25 is self-explanatory amongst long time Toyota fans while a good ke20 you cant give them away unless its to a young tart. I use to sell them to Bimbos while the older classic car enthusiasts almost spat at the 20s. The 20 is a body designed originally for a 4 door sedan yet made the 2 door for those with taller rear passengers that couldnt afford the extra 2 doors. I sold my last Mango :( to the only owner of a Delahaye 135 MS cabrio in Australia and he also had a 1200gx, a Lancia 037 and a replica Stratos amongst other fine pedigrees.

ke20 have no sinister alter ego like the ke25 Mango in the te27. The peanut Ke20 was marketted for hairdressers, Bleached Bimbos and Bushtarts that couldnt afford celicas.
Its bulbus deformation at the rear roof line was to attract instant teenage mothers with feral vermon kids that when attempting to dance puzzled onlookers due to the lack of foaming at the mouth.

I can keep going but as respect to Simon Ill stop there :)

Simon I might be swapping a pair of recoed Webers for a T5 from a low klm 1997 ute.
He will ask his brother tonight but I have a feeling he needs the Webers more than
I need and extra gear :). I also have a rebuilt W58 series with late 2000 Hilux rear
section to shorten the distance of the leaver position. The funny thing is this box
bellhousing for the Toyota engine it used is exactly the same length as the Auto from
the A series.
