Yeah I like the mirrors right up front of the guards, like in the wagon up there ^
I'd be keen to meet up in Melbourne, but I'm not going for that two door anymore. It went to $450 in the first few hours and it's almost at $700 in the last few days!
I don't have the funds to compete with that sort of bidding pace. If I wanted it bad then yeah I'll throw funds on the table. When I bid for mine I dropped $6000 on the bid, got it for a third of that. I did work on Lihir Gold Mine and got that car bought for me in exchange.

utes are cool cause they are light and have a 4.44 ratio diff :P. coupes are good cause they seem better quality and look sporty

I think the 4.675 was a 'rally' option. Coupes? Better quality?
I reckon the two doors are harder to get than coupes.

"Coupes? Better quality?"
Chris, the KB10 was the Sunny Flagship, and definitely made use of some materials that give it a quality feel.
The frames around the windows (on the sides) are stainless steel, these were just painted on the other models, the dash is sporty and modern where the others had a more old fashioned dash layout, and the hand brake is between the seats on the coupe where it feels rally like, the under dash hand brake placement in the other models feels a bit agricultural. Also the KB10 grille is all stainless and undoubtedly cost a lot more to make than the pressed grilles offered on the rest of the range.

Yeah I guess you have to own one to really appreciate the extra effort that Datsun went to. I must admit the dashboard is rather appealing. Matto1kute has installed one of these in his ute, looks good.
There was a coupe I really liked belonged to someone in QLD it was dark, lowered with minilites. Might have belonged to Bert or Vixxen. That coupe is nice.

One for everybody, I love the old simple dash and minimalist lines of the non sport models while its lovely to drive a coupe with all the luxuries and the coupe engine is something else with the right hot dog design.
The coupe lends itself to sport modifications better than the rest, yet its was the porkier of the lot for performance hence the 2 door sedan was raced. In todays strict laws the coupe might suit a bigger engine if so desired. Anyone know if the coupe deluxe weight of 675kg is wet or dry? Also was there a heavier version of the coupe? For a ca18det its need to be 725-730kg to comply.

The funny little 2 door on You tube [post #25] looks to simply have the rear portion of a 4 door roof on it ['C' pillar]
I think that the standard 2 door body desperately needs a top chop as it is way out of proportion. The 4 door seems to address this & even though it is the same height, it doesn't look so 'top hat'
I owned & drove a 1968 4 door for well over a decade & loved it, but I always wanted a coupe as I regard this as the premium model in the line. Now that I have one, I know I made the right choice.
KB10, the car you always wanted.
