Hi i have a question regarding the a e15 dizzy in a a14. Negative on coil is connected to the blue wire on dizzy as stated in wiki and black white wire on dizzy has been connected to the + side of coil with a wire which has been added in. now the weird part, the earth terminal on the dizzy also connects back to the + side of the coil. Is this normal does not seem right but the car did run fine. I came across this when i was tiding up the harness. Any explanations from experts...... Please

The earth terminal is not earthed! Otherwise it would short out the + wire.

Generally speaking you can remove the earth terminal as the distributor body earths via the engine block.

Jumping on this thread to get some clarification. I stumbled across 2x E15 distributors today- 1 From an N12 pulsar, and the other from an ET Turbo. Both differ. Overall outer dimensions and mountings are the same, however, the N12 Pulsar Dizzy has 2 wires, whereas the ET Turbo Dizzy has 3 wires. Are BOTH compatible with the A-series motor, once you change the lower gear on them? Outer input shaft casings varied somewhat in design (rubber o-ring placement), but dimensions and length are identical. Both electronic, but stamped model numbers are different.
Which is the better to install?

Cheers
Michael

BTW Estyre- Have read that the E15 was fitted to the N12 Pulsar, including the ET Turbo, the older style EXA (turbo included) and the humble Nissan Prairie. N12Turbo.com is a good place to source 1 if your local wreckers are lacking.
