You could run an ignition only computer, they're out there in the market but not widely used.

like jordan said, why would you bother. atleast if you want it NA just go quad throttle injection. all that effort would be much more worth while

Im with Jordan, if you are going to spend all the time and money putting a CA in your datsun why not just leave turbo or NA efi, surely you would get alot more power, and it not going to be lighter without the efi stuff. sounds lot alot of work without an obvious reward.thats just my thoughts.

get some huge cams ground up, use ca16de pistons for higher compression.

you'll end up with pretty low compression if you use CA16 pistons as they are 5mm smaller in diameter

I went down this track a few years ago, modified the inlet manifold to bolt the 45mm dellortos on and modified a distributor out of a ford telstar to go where the CAS normally goes. Did most of the hard work then changed direction. Still think it is a good idea though, might revisit it at some stage actually.
Why carbs over EFI? It justs suits some people better, probably cheaper for some people, and probably flows better than the factory EFI manifold so should go better!
