eyyy lads, well i still havent got a painted shell (YES this is a long term project), but i did pick a nice little engine to whack in it when done. It's an A12, and has:

GX oval port head
double valve springs
9000rpm redline
tuned length exhaust
ported as much as humanly possible
lumpiest cam available
Twin SU's with extended manifold
aluminium flywheel

that's about all i know of it, unfortunately it didn't come with any receipts or specs, but supposedly its been balanced and blueprinted so someone must have the docs. The guy i bought it off said it was in a 120y and used in a rally car, he said they ran it on methanol and it hammered along. The guy has owned 40 cars and he said it was the best 4cyl he'd been in. Shibbbbbbyyyyyy

This thing sounds like it rips it up, some big statements there!

Can you show us some pics of the oil pump, especially the flywheel. I reckon by lookin at the flywheel I may know who built this.

Crack it open and lets have a looky.

Yeah i haven't got the oil pump, have to get that, the flywheel and a few other bits and pieces off him next time i see him. The motor was built by a fella called Brian Benson, he's gonna give me a call sometime soon. Hopefully i can get full specs! And yeah gonna open her up asap, just need some time. hey has anyone here got some trumpets/socks for SU's? Clyons? haha

I missed this, you know the extension of the GX manifold isn't an uncommon thing, especially by the racer fellas of that era.

Brian Benson? Never heard of him. But those aluminium flywheels were made up by a reputed engine builder and he's out of the game now (of course your one could be different). Nice piece of equipment to have.

Socks and trumpets are easy to find, just depends what sort of money you want to spend?

Going by old mates word is fine, those engines (especially from that era) tend to be up to their so said reputation. Good work on the buy.

Well i'll pay whatever the trumpets are worth, i'm toying with the idea of running a half intercooler setup to force more air in, but that's well down the track. For now some decent trumpets would do nicely though if anyone has any?
