You can try a radiator flushing additive but I'm not sure on their effectiveness.
Otherwise a garden hose and flush water through the cooling system (from both top and bottom hoses) until it runs clear, then refill with proper coolant. Don't forget to turn the heater to hot so it gets flushed as well (I usually disconnect the heater and flush it separately to ensure it is done properly as well).

Other than that you will need to remove the radiator and get it flushed/rodded out professionally.

EDIT: IMPORTANT: Don't forget to bleed the cooling system afterwards. Fill it with coolant and run the engine (with no radiator cap and heater on hot) until the thermostat opens (you will see (hot)coolant flowing rapidly across the top of the radiator), then top it up and shut the engine off, leaving it to cool comepletely. Once cold, top up the coolant and put the radiator cap on.

you wont believe me, some people in malaysia used Coca-cola to clean their radiator, and some used brake fluid. take out the radiator and fill with coke, and shake it vigourously... but i prefer to just use radiator flush, simply just drain the water, no need to take out the radiator. put those radiator flush, and fill again the radiator with RO water... about 100 miles later, i flushed the coolant, and refill with RO water.. done..

i have also reversed flushed the radiator while its in the car, but disconnetected the hoses.

i jam the hose in the bottom hose tight with the rad cap on, let it fill up, i block the top hose with my hand after its filled up a little to let the pressure build a little then let it flow out the top hose by releasing my hand.

I have seen a bit of scale and stuff come out this way and have seen improvements.

I also make sure i then rinse the core out bu removing the rad cap and flushing the raditor with its normal flow pattern.

by doing this it can dislodge some stuff by reverseuing the usual flow, and then fluching can rinse out loosened particles.
