army green- you in the mood for painting?

This colour reminds me of the awesome datsun 1600 one from factory.
Get some custom widened black 15 inch steelies on low profile 195/60/15
and some chrome nuts then you can forget about gutter rash.

yep D stock datsun colour is what im aiming for, will see if i can get some more pics of actual cars soon

unfortunately 15 inch steel rims wont fit on my car...like most cool 15s

I currently have 165/70/13s and absolute love the ride with the lower suspension.
Also this size is throwaway cheap. Its a little cushier but Koni dual way
oil adjustable shockies will help further.

they wont fit coz of the brakes on my car. its the wheel limiting factor

My pintara brakes fit just with a little grinding of the calipers.
But sounds like your brakes discs are much bigger.

I also have black igma steelies with 175/55/14 which are awesome
for fitment and the Toyo tire is hard to beat.
Maybe you could fit 14s? if so the tires can be had anywhere you
find damaged mazda bubble 121, mazda 3, micra and echo etc.

nah 15ich mags are the smallest i can fit, 15 inch steel rims dont even fit. and if the brakes were full size which i might make them if i get bored, then even 15 inch mags will be prety limited. and think im stuck with on piece mags too, which is what kills the cool wheel choice

anyways, gave the bottom of the wagon a coat of paint today. was my first time painting in a shed...really need an exhaust fan setup to get rid of all the stray paint, came out looking like the hulk

but now is rather green underneath










will probably give it another coat in a day or so

Nick, you should make sure you get some sealant also on the gaps
where the paint hasnt reached and where water and dirt will over time.
Youve done so well so far it deserves it.

Back to the rims how about a cheap set of 15inch centerlines as
the have a clearance at the moment.

You can get the GN or the Stealth with the centre caps machined
with the datsun logos (get 4 allen hex dome bolts instead of 2 as well)

Paint the outer rims white (easy to cover the gutter rash with white paint
as you need to) and a thin inner step inside to paint mat black so the white
is contained in the black from the low profile tires (195/50/15 and the black
on the machined inner groove.

Youll have the wide alloy steelies and hub cap look with either plain hub cap
or retro hub look.
