OK, I didn't race on Friday. The car was running very lean so I did a pressure check on the intake and found a lot of leaks in my welds. Since this first attempt at a custom intake, I decided on a new design so I'm back to cutting and welding. Plus I've gotten better at the welding. Aluminum is hard to weld. Carbs will sit in the exact same spot.

Got a lot of welding done today but ran out of wire. Found out that all of the welding shops are closed on the weekends so I had to shut it down until Tuesday. If everything goes right I should have it on the road to the muffler shop this week to get some pipe bent and the exhaust connected. That and the nitrous hooked up.

Got my car out today. Ran it down to the muffler shop and had them do the exhaust. I was having trouble with the clutch fully engaging so I could not run it out right. At least it quiet now. Need to bleed the brakes as well. Other than that, just some minor stuff. Nitrous is hooked up but I need to see what my fuel pressure will be at full throttle.

It is a lot quicker than my A15 motor.

Ok,
This weekend maybe the day of the first race. Sunday that is. I have had the car out on the road but have been having brake issues. I can keep the pressure up and have been having to keep pumping them.
Well. except for the one time when I broke a brake line in the rear and lost all brake pressure sending my car into a brick wall at the machine shop. Rinkled the right front fender and pushed in the front bumper a bit. But that is already been fixed. No pictures taken though. Drove it home using the e-brake.
I had some fiberglass fenders that have been sitting in my garage for years and they went on quick. So for now the car has a black front end. I may leave it that way. Kind of looks cool.
Finally got the car tuned. My carbs were not even close when it came to setting the throttle and idle screws. Both tuned way different.
The supercharger is showing some lag off the start. Even when I bring up the RPM's and drop the clutch. I am hoping that the Nitrous will solve that problem but I have yet to test my theory. I have been busy this past couple of weeks with other stuff.
I will be trying to fix the brakes this weekend.

Got my car down to the track today. It ran really well until the last race. I think I burned my clutch out so I had to trailer it home.
I was running 8.1 sec. consistant in the 1/8th mile at 67 miles an hour. 10 psi boost and 50 shot of nitrous. Not sure what that calculates to a 1/4 mile but the car is back in the garage and I will be pulling the motor out most likely. Anyways, I enjoyed the rush while it lasted. Back to work. I have videos of some runs but I don't believe we can post them on the website.

OK, I used a drag calculator online and a 8.1 sec. 1/8 calculates to a 12.7 sec. 1/4.
I guess I won't be sure until in can get it down to Pacific Raceways in Kent.

Yikes that is fast. That's what $75,000 Corvette 505 HP runs.
