Yes, it is possible. Do this:
1. On the left side of this page, click 'Edit Account'
2. Scroll down to where it says 'Store my user name in a cookie for 1 year' and click Yes
3. Click 'Save Changes'
However it does not work correctly. I find that around midnight it signs me out. But during the day it helps. It is worth doing.

Thanks - yes I'd done that and have same issue as you. Seems therefore it's supposed to be possible but doesn't work at present.

It works partially and is worth doing. Change it to remove that setting and you'll see what I mean.
