slight leak into the extractors from cyl 2 and 3.
used to be at cyl 4 as the flange was not quite flush.

just wondering if double gasketing the seal will fix this.
I figued it would squish the gasket more where it seals better and seal adequately where it currently doesnt.

its only a slight leak and im just looking for an easy fix lol

check to see how bent the surface is on the extractors, or maybe the studs on the head arent letting you tighten them up enough so check if the studs are loose....that really could be the only thing stopping up other then the head being warped on that side. I dont think that a double gasket will work if it does dont know for how long

extractor type gaskets are a little more forgiving than standard gaskets,
and some maniseal (CRC product) can help..

Maniseal poo, HT RTV goo or use the std thick washers from the std manifold to really spread the pressure and get a good seal?

As an alternative to the gasket goo/glue stuff, one trick I've used (and in a pinch this trick can be used if you are forced to re-use an old gasket) is to smear grease around the gasket - both sides, making rings/boxes around where the manifold/flanges/port holes are. It seems to help teh gasket snug up/and also slightly 'burns in' or something. It will smoke a little for a minute or two after the very first start up after fitting it, but fine thereafter.

mainseal will only work untill you load up your chassis enough for the headers to flex. (Like a big hard launch that really tweaks the mounts) Then the maniseal cracks and falls out. My headers leak at the head 'cos I've got ported out zhorst ports and can't run an off the shelf gasket. I've found that maniseal works for a while, but then (ussually after doing burnouts) it cracks and falls out.
Next time I try to remedy it, I'm going to try rtv.

I just run high temp RTV and no gasket (inlet or exhaust). Works fine. Don't think it would work too well without good mating surfaces though.
