Well this thread is nothing but a whinge session that is overpopulated by some politically inept, whining, short sighted people who believe everything they read in the paper.
Remember the first law of journalism? NEVER let the truth stand in the way of a good story.
Remember?
The previous government had its leader thrown out of his own seat while he was still [acting] Prime Minister of this country. That has to tell us something right there.
Don't I remember something about 'Children Overboard' or how he engineered the situation where Pauline Hansen was thrown in gaol [that's 'jail' for Liberal voters] because he was terrified that she might actually become a political force.
How about when he said "GST, ..... NEVER EVER" the lying scum.
I too remember how he scapegoated law abiding firearm owners, turning them into hated pariahs just to further his political cred while squandering hundreds of millions of Australian taxpayers dollars on a confiscation. Oh yeah, I mean 'buy back' [You will give us that rifle & we will give you a token sum of money or else we will do really bad things to you]
In the end, there was absolutely NO DIFFERENCE to the firearm crime rate whatsoever when plotted over a 10 year trend.
Thanks a lot ar$ehole.
Now, under the current government we have an economy that is the envy of the developed world. Look at the mess that the US is in, along with Britain, Greece & the rest of Europe & don't come whining to me about the 'surplus' that the previous government left behind, it constituted only a small percentage of the whole recovery package.
Speaking of surpluss, what the hell was the previous government going to do with it, ... add it to their superanuation fund?
They certainly had no plans to spend it on us, on infrastructure, on defense, on welfare, on hospitals, or anything else
That money was Aussie taxpayers money & the previous government didn't give a rats rectal orifice about us.
I wonder how many returned their free money handout from the Government 'stimulus' package in protest.
Nobody? Thought so, makes for a lot of two faced people in my view. Take the money then whine about how much was spent.
Just remember that under this government we enjoy one of the best economies in the world in spite of the Global Economic Downturn & our money has bounced back to reasonable exchange rates too.
Illegal imigrants?
Thge way I see it, neither Cook, or any of his crew had a valid passport when they came here, & nobody in the 'first fleet' could be described as anything other than an illegal imigrant.
In fact, nobody who came here ever since has ever had permission from the rightfull owners of this land.
Unless you are an indiginous person, then every one of us is either an immigrant, or is decended from immigrants, yet we want to slam the door in the face of those who wish to do nothing less than what our forefathers did, seek out a better life in a new land.
A law for some, but not for others, seems a bit hypocritical to me.
Lotta people with bloody short memories around here.
Come the revolution comrade, there'll be backs against the wall.
Come the revolution.
