nice project man... try to find out 4AGE 20V Black Top because its up model engine.
u can use AE-86 corolla or Skyline R31 differential.

Here in Pakistan too Toyota engines are favorite for swaps due to performance, low maintenance, cheap spare and availability of performance parts.

Slayer i'm paying a dude R2'700.00 to do a color change on mine. you can see what it looked like on the first pic i uploaded and what it looks like now. He does it at his home so no ovens etc. So we have to wait for the weather to play along. But from what i can see from the spray it looks good. I know some places charges up to R15'000.00. But at the end of the day you will have to be happy with the end result. I had to go for the cheapest option unfortunately. If you are not in a hurry to get your GX painted , mine should be back with me in a week or 2. Then you can come and have a look at mine. Can always introduce you to the dude. But no guarantee.

DD thanx for the info on the grille. would love to get my hands on one of them. Think it would look good on the GX im building.

Then on the catches or so some people call it here, talking about the latch on the boot and on the car. I have got a lock but nothing to keep the boot closed.

Thanx Nayab. Trying my best to get something different with my GX. also thought about the blacktop but it does 165hp where the silver top does 160hp. here the price difference from silver to black top is about almost R3000.00. and that for only 5hp more. so i have decided to settle for a silver top. Will keep me happy for a long time with 160hp.

well the weather is still having fun with me , so no final coat on the car. feel like screaming.
At least I should have the engine and gearbox by the weekend. 4AGE 20 valve with a T50 gearbox. So there is lots of work waiting for when the body gets back.
This is taking way to long now. But like they say all good things come with time.
will keep the updates coming as new things takes place

What is the difference between the T50 and 21R Toyota boxes, the 21R is very common in conversion in RSA?

well the 21R is a stronger box than the T50. The T50 is also referred to as the split box from Toyota.
The T50 requires no changes or mods to fit on 4AGE engine. Direct fit where the 21R requires different bell housing. So it will be easier and quicker to fit the T50.
Other nice thing about the T50 is that the box length is approx 25mm longer than the 4speed Nissan box. So no mods required on the body to fit the gearbox. Except for moving the hole 25mm for the gear lever.

Nice, so the T50 is also not as fat as the 21R, I had a look at the 21R box and also think you need to modify the trans tunnel for it to fit nice and high up.

At the end of the day settled for the S14 box mated to a Nissan motor, it just makes sense and apparently crap strong.
