Sounds like it is an absolute weapoooon!
Have you been to the Brisbane Auto Salon (they do run one dont they?) with you car? Got any pics you can show us, I would love to see photos of your car as I miss mine so much and get so revved up when I see other peoples, and it is not often you see coupes such as yours (lots of $$$ and show condition). As the other guys have said I would also love to join your cruz, but: 1)My coupe is smashed up 2)I live in Tazzie Keep it hard and fast Simon

mr_nismo4 thanks for your interest about the car.
There are now photos although not real current ones of the car. They are in the car show album. I don't take the car to auto salons for a couple of reasons. 1. It has no body kit. 2. It has no stickers. 3. It was sold before 1998 and 4. it is made of metal. Nothing against auto salons but I expect cars to be judged fairly and not on the fact that it doesn't have name brand parts. Fact is that name brand parts actually perform and look worse than alot of other parts. Anyway it seems that judges are slowly waking up to this so my opinion may changeI prefer to show the car when I have time and like to drive it everywhere when the chance presents it self. Now that I don't work in a supermarket, I might be able to drive it to work and leave it in a car park occasionally and not worry about trolley boys ripping off parts.

I totally agree about the Auto Salon. but there have been a few nice looking 1600's with SR20's.
I suppose an event like the 4 & Rotor Nats would attract a larger field of real metal cars and not the fiberglass show ponies. Your car looks sweet as. If I get money from the insurance company thats the colour I want to paint my other coupe. Keeping the chrome work (bumpers etc) works really well. Did it cost much to get your bonnet done with those vents? How about the front lipped guards? I would luuurve to cruz my car with yours if it wasnt damaged. Im planning a trip upto Brisbane in January with my girlfriend, so if my car is fixed (or my other one is restored) I might be able to convince her to let my DRIVE instead of FLY! hehe Simon

The louvers in the bonnet cost $80 for as many as I wanted. The hard part is finding a person that actually did this as these days most people just glue fibreglass on the bonnet. If you want
it doen in tassie I would talk to some hot rod guys as they often have louvers in the bonnets. As for the guards it was all part of the restoration but I think it was quote about $120 a guard. As for car shows, I go to all of the street machine ones which are mainly V8 shows and I get a lot of V8 blokes commenting about how good it looks and often wondering how I did certain stuff. Glad you like the car. You can view topic.
