today i pulled the motor out and put the new T28 on it (i think its a T28) and it is all plumbed up and ready for some abuse

i also got the stripped threads fixed on my bellhousing ,as the 2 outer bolts were stripped when i got it and then i decided to grind a slot into the bell housing after the streaded mount and then slot a nut into the slot and tighten the bolt ,i know it sounds bad but it didnt go put a hole in the bell housing and i would rather not break the bellhousing while driving

i also got my booster and master mounted into the fire wall ,it turns out that some one had already had one it thre as i started drilling the holes and the old holes had been bogged up and painted over ,which made it easy cos i didnt need to mark and drill anything ,but i did have to shorten the bolt that connects the U to the pedal ,and i had to space the booster of the fire wall with nuts with studs on the other end so that they bolt to the booster and then through to the firewall

i had a figbht with my diff aswell ,it wasnt cooperating so i gave up putting it back in ,being an R31 diff unshortened it isnt the easyest diff to move around and hold the shocky up and then try to get the bolts over the diff and into the bottom shocky plate ,i still need to

the panel work is almost done apart from the sills and the a little bit of welding and plating on the rear quarters ,just the little line on the well arch ,and thanks to nigel the rear patxhes turned out awsome !!! and the line still looks factory on both sides .

i started tidying up my motor ,like i found out that all the crappy looking pipes on the side of the motor for the coolant ,i only need a radiator hose and a hose to got to the hard line for the turbo and then i can block of the 2 heater out puts and do i need to run coolant through my throttle body ??? and i have a a oil cooler block thing that goes onto the block and houses the filter ,i was thinking that this might give me more oil aswell and then i will be putting a wing in the sump aswell

will it be worth putting a wing in the sump and will it be worth going for an oil cooler ?

i was also thinking that i should run an intercooler on my ute ,but im not sure that the fuel will travel throught the turbo then through the plumping and into a cooler ,then through to the inlet manifold ,and i was going to run an injector in the inlet man ifold and run it of the starter relay so that when i try to start it ,it will get fuel instantly and then have a cut of so that it doesnt flood the motor when io crank it for too long ,just incase

yesterday i made an adaptor to bolt the GX hitachi carby up to the turbo via a piece of exhaust pipe and a silicone pipe ,all i need it to run my oil feed and a coolant feed ,and then it will be full race and i need to finish the inlet pipe for the hot pipe on the turbo ,oh and a dump pipe and then i can refit it into the sedan or the coupe to test all the clearances ,like the turbo to strut tower and carby to the radiator support

i was thinking of making some realy cheap turbo manifold/ mounts to bolt onto the standard manifold and then weld or bolt to the turbo ,i can get the pipe bent at the exhauts shop next door and i am going to change position of my turbo so that it will sit up in on the inner gaurd ,so that i will have more room for the bend and it will be less restrictive and maybe increase flow or make boost come in quiker ,and that way it will be easyer to mount the carby and then using a weber would be a piece of piss instead of having it squeezed up to the turbo where it can get hot and vaporlock

hhmm ive got alot of thinking to do ,and i still need to get my Commo brake setup done ,i need to get the rotors machined and rebuild kits for the calipers and then use stainless washers to specer the caliper of the strut by 1.5mm and then it will be all sweet brake wise

ive been thinking that for payment/ a gift for helping with the coupe ,i was going to finish the commo brake setup and give it to nigel ,and make another turbo setup to bolt on for brett and then we can race nigel hehe

ok i think thats al for tonight but ill probably remember something else that im doing

ooww i almost forgot i started making up my hand brake setup and ive got a hand brake of a mitsubishi lancer and it has a cable with a bar with cable holders on it so it is ideal for my setup and i should be able to run the cables through the floor and then straight into the new lever ,hopefully it will work

was that the ozito welding nige? if it is not too bad.

were you going to ozito the diff as well? mmm would you trust it lol.

also using the rhs steel that would act al lowering blocks at the same time yeah? good thinking.

yea i told you brett i dont have a working camera /phone cos mine is going sll strange .it wont send pics or recieve them and it wont view them either !!!!! i should of bought a nokia instead of a samsumg

and yes mik that is the all mighty ozito welder ,i truely love it ,it seems crappy at first but once you get the hang of it ,it is awsome and i got heaps done today

oh and i used a hilux diff to make the mounts ,i cut the tube so it was just a tube and flat mount and then i cut the tube so it turned out to be a semicircle ,which i then started welding to the diff and let nigel finish (im a crappy welder) and yes i thought about using rhs as a lowering block but when i lowered the car there is about 10mm or so of clearance between the tyre and the wheel arch ,so i will need to get them rolled of get flares ,but i would rather not get flares cos if i blow a tyre i will blow a flare

today i FINISHED the ingine bay rust in the top corner and i am extremely happy with my self ,i got it all looking the right shape too ,i just need to fill with bog to get the right smooth look

i also pulled my front seat out so i only have the race seat and i will be mounting the battery in the old seats spot

i put the motor and box back in last night(after all it was 11.00)

and i also got my intercooler sorted out ,im going to run it so that the clamps and pipes will be hanging from the bottom and the alloy intercooler pipes will be running through the inner gaurd and this will make it alot easyer to plumb it up ,and it will look awsome !
i used a piece of 25x25 box tubing and i welded 2 tabs on it to hold the cooler ,and the box tubing runs across the radiator support and is low enough that i wont have to remove it when i pull the motor in and out .it should also add some strength top the front of the car aswell ,and i will be making a tri brace soon to bolt onto the fire wall and the strut tops ,just to stiffen it up abit

i was also thinking that i should make adjustable rear solid shockys or drop the car untill it sits where i want it and then put bump stops in and use those as suspension aswell as the tyres ,or make a set of falcon wagon air shockys fit and then i could adjust the tension in the back hhmmm air bags !

i am also thinking of putting an L series in my ute as i know of one that is for sale but i dont think it will fit ! :(

i will think of more but im hungry

L series fits, i got L series in my sedan.... piggy had l18, andy has l16 too. what makes you think it wont fit!

i need to get my welder back from wurzel then will teach my self some welding levey style.

good to see your getting at it. wish i had the skills to do some structual stuff etc.

im looking at an L20B with twin 40~mm carbys ,and im not sure if it will fit in the enigne bay of my ute ,it would be easy in my coupe cos it has no radiator support and an auto tunnel

how hard was it to fit and did you HAVE to cut the tunnel ? cos im not realy keen on cutting it out unless im going SR

yep new tunnel.

get a 120y one- bluebird and stanza ones are a pita.

piggy has done it and more than enough room for ca in there.

to fit the L20 you may need to notch the x memebr so it all sits lower in the engine bay, unless you like bonnet scoops

How are those 40's going to go on the 2 litre, I mean wouldn't 44s suit the bigger donk (Mikuni's aren't they)?
