since when is an a12 torquey? i'd think you'd be stressing an a12 more trying to push it around city driving with such a tall ratio. worth a try i guess

Im surprised myself to say its torquey but it is compared to other A12s I have driven in K bodies.
Also I avoid Melbourne city but traffic is unavoidable sometimes in the burbs.
It can pull in 4th from 25mph to 100mph comfortably so it not even close to ideal with a 3.9.

What's a K body? Rover K? Chrysler K? Or do you mean a B-body (Datsun B10/B110/B210, etc)?

1000 = 1K or special K :)

It can easily chug along at 20mph with the 3.9 rear in 4th as I noticed today
in cool melbourne weather but to be comfortable 25mph up all in 4th.
The pulsar electronic dizzie with the higher comp would help a tad.
