D, Is that product Por15 available in Aus? Sounds like some good stuff for under a car and inside. Hardy enough to take a bashing. Anyone used it

It certainly is available in Australia. I know my local auto paint store (in Seaford Vic) has it. From what I have read in American mags it's pretty good stuff, but fairly expensive. They do some kind of sample kit that's probably the best value for money....I'm sure there is also a similar (but cheaper) copy available (seen it advertised in the back of some car mags but can't remember the name). Just check with your nearest autopaint store.

When i went into the store there was a railway sleeper with all the por15 products
painted on it and at the end was this blackcote, a shiny black gloss coating
(also avail in white) then I saw alot of key scratch marks where people tried to
mark each coating and the blackcote was the least scratched, I tried with keys
and didnt really work so I tried my stanley and was able to scratch it just
more of a thin non penetrating cut if anything. I was so blown away I quickly
checked behind the counter to see if any other colors where available and he
said he could tint the whitecote and i said "whitecote" yes the white version
I asked if he can tint me an old HT holden Moss Cream Green he said "easily".
He also said you can brush it on and buff it to almost perfect or if spraying
to use a cheap unit as it quickly dries hard so its difficult to clean nozzles.

4ltr is cheaper than 1ltr by far so not too bad

Andy, planning on buying probably 6-8 litres of paint which when thinned will be like 20 litres so i'll really be layering the paint on

wasnt really planning on clear coating it, just coz then i can always spray over it again easy enough if need be...and coz it would add the the already rather high cost of the whole paint and panel exercise

also open question to anyone, a good gravity spray gun, what should i be looking for? how much is a good one worth? mainly for spraying the colour onto the wagon

255aud then the whitecote is a bargain. Im going to roller away when I do it and wetsand it
where it needs it and then buff it. I think the rustoleum is good but no where near as tough.
Im thinking of this colour with black watanabes with chrome lips and other chrome througout
with black interior and roll cage. Old man moss green here I come.

Anyone know about this product? for underneath the car maybe and sills?

would add to the cost tinting it though wouldnt it

if you buy a normal colour off the shelf its cheaper, but actually mixing colours up costs a bit more
