1200Rallycar.......

I am quite aware that my Avatar is a B310 Sunny - I own it "You Idiot!"

For the category of racing (Improved Production) that the car is being built for, the Sunny is a better platform. Racing is about winning....not style!

Just because I own a Sunny, does not mean I cant' appreciate the 1200's...particularly the coupe! I love them!

Maybe now you can understand "what I am talking about" - You Idiot!

2332owner! The car was entered as a PB210 sunny but it looked like a 120y,I don't know if it was actually "Sunny excellent".The owner said that the guy he bought it off claimed it was very rare and only ever sold in pakistan, and that it went preety good aswell. It had leaf springs on the rear which would have to make it similar to a 2litre escort....great in a straight line with the handling of a tug boat

A 1974-1978 120Y is Nissan model B210. In all countries.

PB210 is the "Excellent" model . The most obvious differences are the L-series engine and unique body panels (hood, grille, taillights).

it's not me saying these things, cause i know what really gets the troops torqued up,like coupe versus sedan.oh no,not again.as for the pakistani only model bit, that's an old ploy by some racers to get bits homologated for their cars.they front up with 'homologation' papers that say the car was run this way somewhere in the world, usually Pakistan,& the poor overworked scrutineer passes the car as legal, rather than question the validity of the paper work.was done a lot under the 73-84 group c regs,as all the cars had to have a production equivalent.one of the fathers of a present v8 stooper car hero was renown for this,on his capri.they're probably just doing the same with 120y's so they can run l series engines.

they sold the car as an excellent i thought in japan aswell, we have had pictures of these things in our gallery for ages, there was a guy selling one in sydney recently too, it is well known (i thought) that the 120y was sold in japan with l-series motors (the excellents) there was also a 1200 excellent with l-14 and both l-14 and l-16 in 120y versions

have a bit of a search on the net, there is some dude in south africa with one, there it is called a 140z i believe

found this 1200 version in our gallery

There were two Sunny at the Alpine!

One was car #9, a 1980 Datsun B310 from melbourne (mine) with A14 motor (1587cc).

The other was a Dastun PB210 (known in Oz as a 120Y), car #61, with an L14 (1975cc). I believe this particular car has a fairly famous history!

The B310 finished 21st and the PB210 41st. Note that Datsuns finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 8th!!!!

The brochures of "1200/1400" is misleading. If you look at the entire brochure and the Nissan parts books, you'll find that the 1200 is the B110 and the 1400 is the PB110. In other words, Excellent 110s were only L14. The A12 powered models were not Excellents (they were better!).
