Hi
I am posting on behalf of Clive. He bought a ARP stud (for the cylinder head bolt down) and ARP conrod kit and they were listed for A12 engine. He is going to use it on a A14/A15 engine. Will it work?

Already discussed several times this year
ARP Brand connecting rod stud set * 102-6002 The same rod studs are used by all A-series engines, from A12 to A15. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... le=Engine_block#Rod_Studs

He needs to be carefull about which A12 is being refered to.
Since the cylinder head stud kit that he bought seems to be listed for the A12 & not "All A series except 1966-'73 A10 & A12" I would assume that it is for the earlier engine. The later engines [mid mounted distributor] [1974 --> A12, A12A, A13, A14, A15] have one bolt that is longer than the others, so I would expect the ARP stud kit for these engines to also have one stud that is longer. The earlier engines [forward mounted distributor types] have ten head bolts that are the same length as each other so I would expect that the stud kit would also follow this pattern.
