quick question re stanza struts.

i have searched.
hey everyone just after a bit of info regarding stanza struts in a normal 1200 coupe crossmember. now.. ive put the struts in and everything is all good , i had to machine down the castor rods so they were shorter. but i ordered stanza tie rod ends thinking they were the right ones. when the coupes steering rod has a thread too big for the stanza tie rod ends. i need the stanza size top of the tie rod but the 1200 coupe sized thread. am i correct in saying i need to order 120y tie rod ends? or do i have to change the whole steering rod thingy to a stanza one. thanks

no stanza should work fine, 120y is the same as 1200...pretty sure you can even just use 1200 ones instead of stanza as they all use the small tierod end taper
so the tierod end isnt actually threading onto the tierod? if thats the issue then something is not what you think it is, as stanza tierod ends 100% go onto 1200 tie rods and 120y, sunny, 180b, stanza(obviously) ive used a couple of different combos in mine 1200 inner rod end, 1200 tie rod, stanza outer rod end 1200 inner, stanza tie rod, stanza outer 1200, 180b, stanza 1200,180b, 180b (to use with offset 200b steering arms)

yeh the stanza tie rod end (555 brand) wont thread onto the 1200 thread.
yeh the top tapered thread is smaller tho the stanza ones look like they should be using the bigger ones. if its ok to use the normal 1200 tie rod ends i will. all i was told is stanza ones will work but have to be reversed. edit : obv bursons have given me the wrong tie rod end as you have used stanza ones before. does anyone have 2 new tie rod ends , stanza or 1200 that live sydney/central coast area as i cant wait the 2 week wait for them to turn up. but ill check rare spares tomorow at lunch. thanks for clearing that up buddy. anything else i will have issues with if im usuing everything 1200 except stanza struts and control arms and castor rods.

if the 1200 tierod end taper fits in the stanza steering arm(the bit the strut bolts to) then you should be right to just use them
the reason to use stanza stuff is that the 1200 stuff is supposed to be a little short once adjusted up. so just check the amount of thread you have left in the rod ends once they are adjusted this is a 1200 and a 180b one, obviously they are a little well use in the pic, but the stanza one should look about the length of the 180b one but with the smaller taper like the 1200 one(left) they definately dont have the larger taper like the 180b one ![]()
