#1 60 series 5 speed into a 120y
SunnyDaze Posted on: 2010/10/16 5:33
I have a 60 series 5 speed that I wish to swap into a 120y. I see that the cross member mounts sit farther back on the 60 series than the original gearbox, by about 45-50mm. However there's a second set of holes on the 120y body, about the same distance back.

Can anyone who has done this swap confirm that he gearbox will just bolts using the original cross member?

60 series 4 speed did not fit on my 120y although i had a automatic trans tunnel
i know that there are 2 sets of holes
i don't know if these holes are for the automatic/manual boxes or l series or a series boxes
or maybe there was 3 sets of holes i cant remember
but what i done to overcome the problem was i put a b310 manual crossmember on there
i think i switched it around and drilled the holes 4-5cm in and it fit like factory

Ok, I have the b310 manual crossmember so I'll see how that goes. Did you manage to fit the reverse switch in the 120y tunnel?

yeah reverse switch fit well but i didnt end up using the top gear switch
top gear switch i think was for some kind of emissions control feature that would advance/retard the dizzy when the gear is in 4th or 5th
