does any one know how much power you can get out of an a12 engine and how much would it coat to turbo charge

i suggest doing some engine searches using the button on the side, as these two topics are often asked about.

but in short, power depends on money but on average turboed a a12 will give around 90kw atw depending on a multitude of differences. cost is starting from $0 (if you have the part and going up to Thousands and thousand.

A12, A14, A15 the price would be more or less the same to do. The a14 and a15 would only give more power.
The more you can spend the more power, but check out the "search block" on the left of this page, you would find a lot of info like that on this site

im collecting the bits for a turbo build at the moment

is efi the best option for tuning (ease of tuning) ???
and will it make more power with a low tech computer than a good carby setup eg 175CV stromberg ??

what would be more reliable in the long run ?? carby is simp,e and seems easyer

Efi will make it easier to make it more drivable but it will have he same power as the carby equivalent.

I will be using a carby on my draw through setup - Mikuni HSR 45. It has an accelerator pump and looks sick bolted the the front of a turbo and can even be brought polished if wanted. Being a motorbike carb with a CABLE operated slide the tuning would take an arvo.

I've thought of EFI but after getting all the sensors and hooking it up and the big bucks invested - you have to send it off to get tuned which I couldn't bare as I like to do my work myself.

For a first time attempt at turbocharging I'm all for the carby but to the experienced person EFI is a good alternative.

Interesting you mention the HSR.

I have a Keihin CR Special (big bore) for exactly the same purpose.

I prefer the old look of polished stromies or sus but
the MSR look nice polished as opposed to standard

after building carby setups and then going efi, i wouldnt go back ever. power and efficiency is better.

hey frank what sorta power did u get with the a15? and what boost as im looking at getting water/ meth setup and need to sorta give them a power output for nozzle size, im thinking my a14 t25 with a little port work and recent bottom end rebuild that id be looking at bout 130rwhp is this about true from a cd175/ 1 3/4su draw through setup??

i would like to know how much extra power you get from water/meth setup too
