I am looking at getting my seats recovered.
Does anybody know where you can get the vinyl that slightly resembles the original material.
I rang a couple of motor trimmers but I thought they were hellishly expensive (starting at $200 a metre)
cheers
Bruce

I've heard good things about this place. No idea of costs however.
I'd be interested to hear though.

I was actually just after the material, rather than a joint to do it.
I might ring that place and see if they sell it
cheers

I found this place in Moorabbin Victoria:

VYFAB

They were quite helpful, had heaps of different stock and the material was only $20 a metre for automotive grade vinyl (UV tollerant/resistant), it ranged in price from about $15 to $30.
So hopefully my next post will be my recovered seats
cheers
Bruce

thats a good price Bruce if it resembles the original
I had my split folding bench seats for my Mazda 800 totally
redone with padding and other stuff for 330aud from a person who
works from home as he does aeroplane interiors 3-4 days a week.

Dave,
thats a pretty good price you got.
The couple of motor trimmers I went to locally wanted that sort of dollars just for the material alone.

The material I got is pretty similiar to the original. They had a really good range. We will see how it comes ups.

Yeah, more work than I want to tackle, even if I was a trimmer
but he used leftover black vinyl for me which was great as it
was both smooth and perforated stuff to make it look original.

Because it had no headrests, I had some welded some on from a Hyundai
excel which had oval black perforated ones to suit the old style I
was chasing and give me some comfort and security
