Ordered handbrake through local auto shop. Custom made to my specifications.

Looked into several companies on the east coast but opted to go through middleman as if it wrong thay can sort it out. Ended up only being about $20 more.

Will post up some pix of the setup when I get it, but looking at about a 2 week turnaround.

OK - Handbrake cables are on and sorted, so basically the R31 diff is done bar putting some oil in it and getting a new tailshaft.

Have replaced gear box shifter boot, repaired neutral switch and cleaned up the oil covering the underside of the car.

New porportioning valve is installed and what a prick of a job that was. Only thing left is to bleed the brakes and check for leaks.

All going well car will be back on the road next weekend.

Got sick of the steel brake lines from the Master to the portortioning valve setup so bit the bullet and went flexible braided lines.

Ive got fancy braided stuff too now Jesse !!!

Was so much easier to install. Have bleed the brakes, so test drive tomorrow after work.

Well the initial test drive was OK and as the brakes bed in it got better and better. It was initially pulling to the right but after a quick spin in pulls up dead straight and very well with minimal pedal pressure. Brake hard and you have to control the car as it gets a bit light in the rear and on a bumpy road it squirms a bit, but you can pull it up from a 100kph very quickly.

Sadly the diff whines and is ready for a trip upto Perth to visit the diff specialist.

Even worse, still leaking oil from the gear box, although not from around yoke. Have replaced yoke, yoke seal and gear stick boot, so now it's appears to be comming out of the breather. Thinking of replacing this now and seeing what happens. Then can draw conclusion that perhaps too much oil in the box because it being on a slight angle ?

It never ends

haha nice looking lines there jarrad and for the price i might get a set made for the front ,and get rid of all the steel lines haha ,i think it might swell abit and make the brakes worse

Time for an update.

Diff has been removed and has had an overhaul. New 3.89 Crown and pinion. (Not Cheap) New bearings and new wheel bearings as well. Could justify spending more money on a LSD center, so will make do with open center.

Put the coupe back together and NO go. Blocked fuel filter being the culprit. So a rush job to get one and ended up with a faulty one. Put cheap $2 one in and works a treat. So off to another store and got genuine RYCO this time and no problems. Car runs sweet and diff very quite.

Goin to clean up underside of car soon and invest in that engine temp alarm that have been looking at.
