Yep gx brand it is! I have no hope of fitting air cleaners as it is. So some more clearance would be good.

Troy 5-10mm wont make much difference.

Another option could be to sell these up and get some downdraft mikuni or
keihins with custom manifold like clyons8 got done by Sykine and have them
angled up instead. By the time you are finished with proffessional
tuning it should still be cheaper than the dellortos, webs or solex/miks.
Theyll be lighter too by far and look sexier :)

I Have thought about going Bike carbs before but was concerned with getting them set up properly and also what type or size carbs to get.

As long as they are evenly spaced you can use from 34,36,38,40,41
depending on what final performance you are after.
Tuning will be the same in any good dyno or dell/carb/SU carbie place
few and far between but if you make a trip to melbourne I can help
you with locations but in Launceston there is a top bloke who could
probably help you or know of someone who does. Probably just a little
too far from Wynyard?

Mikuni BS34's are quite cheap and are a sidedraught, fairly easy to tune with both me and diymark having run them before so bit of history there for you to reference to. They tend to sell for between $80-120 depending on condition.

I'm giving a set of Keihin CVK a go in a few weeks, just sorting the manifold out.

Mikuni TCM Flatslides are about as slim as you can get, real beautiful carb but pretty exe:

I would pursue bike carbs Troy even non flat sliders work
better than dell/webers and mech inj when setup properly.
Make bike makers still use these modern version of CV carbs
and will leave plenty of room for you to use another alloy
rocker cover converted into a plenum :))))

They helped me with my mazda 800 like you wouldnt believe.
His dad won the first ATCC victory by an Australian car
(Holden Monaro - Norm Beechey). They didnt even tell me
just stuck down to getting the 800 ready for me to catch
the last ferry out to melbourne and left everyone elses cars
aside while trying to charge me peanuts so I gave him another 100
of what was on the invoice as a thanks as it was the first time
ever I experienced such hospitality and service.

What power are you after Troy?
You have to go for the later carbs which were
semi downdraft or full downdraft but generally
some mid 90s cbr600-1000 have the downdraft ones
as far as I remember?
Chris can chime in.

I Will be building the engine (a15) up for Hillclimbs and sprints so still unsure what power I want. I would love to have at least 150 170hp.
