The guys are here and we are about to start the a15 after new rings berrings etc, in NZ we have 91 and 95 octane unleaded fuel on pump.
Do I need to but an additive or will it be ok on unleaded fuel....

Thanks In advance......Jas

Depends on the valve seats, if they are hardened then unleaded (highest octane best) is OK, if they aren't (or unsure) then additive won't hurt and will protect the valve seats.

I've never run any valve saver additives on A series motors.
Also can you not get BP ultimate 98 in welles Jase? Once you fit that blower you're going to need all the octane you can get.

Generally alloy heads already have hardened seats i.e. A-series but until someone can confirm that additive won't hurt.

I don't run it with mine either and haven't had any issues but it is std motor and got plenty of miles on it. A new motor, it won't hurt to run additive just in case.

Ok, back from the garage.......I,ve already mixed the fuel and additive and its in the fuel tank.
Looks like I dont realy need the additive, so do I emty the tank now, or do the start up with this fuel ?....
Bart....i,ll look out for the 98, I hav,nt really looked out for it but bring on the blower asap.

My next problem is that I have power to the dash and the electic fuel pump is running with the key off.....any help here?

connect the power from the ignition circuit to the fuel pump, also use a relay to power it too, if you could be bothered. ignition circuit only has power when the key is half turned, just before the start motor goes.
