#1 1200 colapsable steering colum
DON_1200 Posted on: 2011/1/4 7:20
Hi all,

does anyone know where i can get a colapsable steering colum assembly to fit into a 1200 ute????

I have been told that the later model 1200 coupe came out with the colapsable colum but am having trouble getting my hands on one..

If anyone has done the conversion or has any info it would be greatly appreciated..

If you find one make sure you get the upper mounting bracket as well, the colapsable colum is a larger diameter than the non colapsable so the old mount wont fit.
Hope that helps a bit :)

most 1200s had them, think 5 out of the 7 or 8 that ive had have had the colabsable ones in them

both my 71 sedans have them, both my utes did. one wagon didnt, havent checked the other 2

ok, i have checked and it is definatly not a collapsable, which brings me back to my initial question... anyone know what i can use apart from a later model 1200 colapsable or does anyone know where i can get a colapsable from a 1200??

btw, i have tried many wreckers and none of them have 1200 in the yard...

Give "Petersons" garage a call, in Bundanoon, Chris [Proprietor] is datsun savy and will probably have the part you require.
