Hi mate

There are a couple of different diffs in these. Assume it's RWD? Is it a H190 or a C200?

H190... but are 6 stud... (same as Landcruiser/Patrol)

there are 2 ratios... 2wd and 4wd...

4wd 720's have R200 front diffs...

Hi mate

Check your info. The RWD are available in H190 and C200. As far as I've been able to work out, the H190 is the earlier models and the C200 is in the later models. C200 appeared to continue into Navara etc. Rumoured (don't quote me) that an R200 LSD will go into a C200 housing, as the R-diffs are the IRS version of the C-diffs.

Can't comment on 4x4 models as I have no experience with these.

I have a H190 from a RWD 720 sitting on my floor at home, it took three weeks & I had to look at four different RWD ones before I found one with a H190. Then of course, I found three on the same day. As far as I'm aware, all RWD models are 6x140, and the H190 has a massive 4" centre bore which means it's basically impossible to soundly re-stud the axles... which I assume is why they're not used commonly in conversions. Bluebird H190 (series 3 sedans & apparently some wagons?) is a better option as you get 4x114.3 and discs (not sure if optional, or if they're all disc).

HOWEVER, the advantage of these is that (shh) they should bolt straight into a 120Y & are near-enough to the right width. As long as you can deal withdrum brakes and six-stud, that's a simple diff conversion right there :) I will know for certain in a week or two, as I'll be fitting mine & will do a thread on it.

4WD ones seem less common in the wreckers, I'd imagine because (a) they're more desirable to keep on the road and (b) if they've been used on the beach/mud they're LONG gone!!!
