I own 3 yes 3 120Y's ("The Defect" a parts car and the next door neighbors stock car) they are all 4 door sedans, and they ALL have Borg Warner diffs because as far as I know all australian built 120Y's has borg warner diffs fitted from the factory

Ok guys thanks for all the help. I have an idea, but I'm not sure it will work, maybe you'll can help me out. Ok what if I buy the complete rear axle assembly for the B310 model and use the parts from it like the Diff, the two axles, the two hubs, and the brakes assemblies and fit them onto my B210 housing. Will these parts fit back on the B210?

I would order the B210 housing -- you know it will fit your B210.

Some, but not all of the B310 parts will fit. I don't think the axles will, the B310 is a wider car.

Ok thanks I'll take your sugestion into consideration, but one more thing, would the diff on the B210 take the pressure from the A15 engine?

Yes -- the differential third-member in the B310 is the SAME one used in the B210 -- the H150. Nissan used the H150 behind the A15.

The smaller H145 used in the 1200 will also stand up to the A15 and 60a-series 5-speed. That's what I used. But when I used the A15 and stock 1200 4-speed with it's more powerful first gear, I broke the H145 ring gear twice.

don't know much about the H series of diffs as I've never had a vehicle with one in it but I have heard that an aussie 120Y diff will withstand the force of a stock/lightly modified L18! as long as you don't do silly things (that means no burnouts!) the one in "The Defect" has withstood all the hell I've put through it! I've done reverse to firsts, firsts to reverse (I definitely don't recomend those) reved the guts out of it then stuck it in drive ( I have to, as it has a blown Head Gasket and stalls if I don't)

unfortunately I doubt you would be able to get an aussie 120Y diff in the west indies

I forgot to mention the aussie 120Y diff is recognisable as the diff internals are removed from the rear of the housing (the "nose" of the diff (where the yoke attaches) is an integeral part of the diff like the dana 60 diffs in (american) dodge musclecars

later,

mawler1
