#1 oval port intake gasket part # for A15?
datsunbeginner Posted on: 2011/1/14 4:33
can anyone tell me the part # for an oval port intake manifold gasket to fit between my A15 and my Weber 32/36 carby? Need the one that covers the little water holes on the manifold. Would be much appreciated as the local auto stores reckon they can't get one for me?

Repco and Autopro normally have them? Otherwise you may need to sift through the wiki pages to find the part #.

If I am not mistaken the tech wiki only shows gaskets for the original 1200 manifolds. I am taking the original one off and replacing it with an oval port one that came attached to the second hand 32/26 Weber carb I bought. Guess the problem is I have no idea what make and model the new manifold is. Forgive my n00bness but what is gasket paper?

Autobarn, Repco, Supercheap, Burson's all told me they don't have one even for the original intake manifold.

Use any oval port gasket to suit, and drill out the water holes, tap a thread and screw in stainless grub screws with glue on them. Thats what i did anyway..

now that i've read your post properly (i thought your were after gasket between carb and manifold) supercheap stocks oval port inlet manifold gaskets, i got one last week. If they stock them in NZ surely they'll have them over there, being an australian store??

um supercheap was a new zealand store im pretty sure that came into the aus market, put alot of small time local sotres out of operation.

i know its hard as hell to find auto 1 in melbourne nowdays.

use some high temp rtv silicon. Im trying it after exhaust shop and mechainc recomend it over exhaust cement.

it was a toss up between loctite maxx copper or permatec untra copper. they both go to 371 deg c so shoudl so for exhaust manifold. Inlet should be ok with the same. i think one says not suitable with petrol, but im lpg so who cares.

...I am slacking indeed! Think you sold me that unit Rob over four months ago. Finally found the gasket! Cheapa Auto Spares @ Oxenford had it. It is indeed part number jc214 as stated before. Spent today installing the intake and carby with the new gasket. Had a bit of trouble trying to get the throttle cable assembled to the Weber but we put some random bits from around my garage together to get the cable tight. Started first try! Sounds awesome and the engine runs alot better. It idles a bit high but with a little tuning its going to drive like a champ!
