from my own experience in blow through turbo applications, it is needed for the standard carbie to be boxed or completely sealed, this is because the gaskets on the carbie blow out under boost. This happens around 12 psi boost.

The Toyota Superchargers ...Dont make much power above 5500rpm no matter what you try ,,Due to being inefficient at hi rpm due to high air temperature output and power consumption . But the low to mid range is great due to instant torque .. this makes a great engine to drive on the street due to a wide torque band .. you make about 100hp at the wheels with this efi/ supercharger setup on a A15. .
Running a Carby can be touchy so you cant make as much HP "safely" due to not being able to fine tune the fuel and ignition maps easily .. The carbys should always be sucked by the super charger ,,as super chargers are positve displacement .. Running blow through box carby would most likey crush the floats when the throttle is closed as well .... Sorry if i sound negative ,, but just trying to save you some money and time ..A Super charged "A "series is still worth doing if you do it the right way ...

Point of order.
"SOME" superchargers are positive displacement.

Paxton & Latham are just two who make superchargers that are of the centrifugal & axial flow variety.

The superchargers used on Merlin, Griffin, Wright, Pratt & Whitney, Daimler Benz, & Junkers aero engines are all of the centrifugal type

Generally speaking, "supercharger" refers to a mechanicly driven air pump as used on an internal combustion engine [also rotaries] while the "turbo" name is generally used to describe an exhaust gas powered turbine, driving a centrifugal air pump [or supercharger] Turbo Supercharger is a correct term that is normally reduced to "turbo" for simplicity.

Anyone who is considering supercharging , or if you love a good read I strongly recomend A do-it-yourself guide to street super charging
by SA DESIGN (car tech) . I just borrowed it off a mate, and although itlends more towards V8s and "jimmy huffas" its still a brilliant source of valuble information.

u cant just build it without money so while ur gathering funds its much better to gather info at the same time then u dont stuff it up, when ur runnin a pretty big blower considering engine size, if u stuff it up. it can go wrong real badly.
